Carla Despineux - Jury President Born in 1961, she lives in Cologne, Germany. Film theorist, film critic, author and filmmaker. Master of Arts for Theatre, Film and Television Studies at the University of Cologne. Since 1989 she has worked in FEMINALE, International Women’s Film Festival Cologne; co-founder of the festival’s programme section “Queer Looks“. She has made documentaries for TV – “Drei Frauen positive” and “Alte Liebe”, both documentaries for WDR together with Monika Schulz - as well as short features, written film critics and published a book on film: “Girls Gangs Guns – Zwischen Exploitation - Kino und Underground“ (Schüren Verlag 2000, eds. Carla Despineux / Verena Mund). |

Margarida Cardoso Born in 1963, she lives in Lisbon. Audiovisual Image and Communication Course at the Escola António Arroio. She worked in Cinema as an annotator and assistant director, and from 1996 as a director. Her films, documentaries and fictions, have won several prizes in Portugal and abroad. Brian Robinson Brian Robinson was born in Northern Ireland and has a degree in Law and European Studies from Sussex University. He has worked at the British Film Institute since 1987, as a press officer and programmer at the National Film Theatre in London. He has been one of the programmers of the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival since 2000 and will present its 20th edition in 2006. A longterm gay activist, he is also currently involved in The House of Homosexual Culture, a new salon project to promote the appreciation of gay cultural expression. |

Cosimo Santoro Born in 1973, he lives in Turin, Italy. In 1998 he graduated in Film Critic with a degree thesis on Van Gogh by Alain Resnais, which was eventually published in his “Lezioni dal vero – Il cinema dei Pittori” (G.S. Editrice, 1998). He has written for several magazines and published several articles on film directors. From 1997 to 2000 he has been a collaborator of the Turin Mediateca Del Cinema Indipendente Italiano. Since 2000 he has worked with several film festivals like Cinemambiente, Documentary in Europe, Cervino International Film Festival, Torino Film Festival. Since 2003 he’s director of the programming and film selection of the Turin International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, producing a global retrospective on Jean Cocteau and tributes to Brice Dellsperger, Derek Jarman and John Waters. |
